On October 3, 2016, the Association for General Culture and Free Information Omnibus invited young people aged 14-24 to apply to test into the Youth Journalism School. The school, free of charge for students, was promoted via local media, social media, and posters throughout secondary schools. Of 26 applicants, 24 showed up for a written test on October 8 at the Mechanical School in Pančevo – two young women left without taking the test while 22 potential participants were invited back for an oral exam on October 12 and 13. While three of the qualified candidates were no shows for this portion of the exam, a four-member committee comprised of activists of the Association Omnibus agreed that all 19 candidates passed the exam and were admitted to the Omnibus Youth Journalism School.
